I hate the and explicitly opted out of that shite because not only does it infirnge on my privacy (I'll never drive or own a Car with as a matter of principle!) but also shit like this will only be abused to screw over customers instead.

The only people here driving pickup trucks are farmers, rural veterinarians, horse owners/caretakers and professional gardeners or other contractors that shove sit-on lawnmovers, filthy tools and gravel on the bed.

A piece of software dubbed googerteller designed for his Linux computer that emits a scratchy beep when the computer detects information flowing out from his computer to one of Google's computers.

It's not only about the data transfer itself. Imagine the amount of network traffic required when this happens to everyone active online. And the storage and CPU power required to process it all.

Article is from 2022 Autumn.
Imagine if this software was implemented on peoples phones and computers, how quick would people take to revolt against online trackers

Mam szybkie pytanie.

Jednake, wikszo bankw udostpnia aplikacje mobilne, ktre wymagaj Usug Google do poprawnego funkcjonowania, a niektre nawet nie uruchomi si bez nich.

Dlaczego bank wymaga ode mnie zainstalowania oprogramowania od amerykaskiego Big Techu

Dlaczego bank wymaga ode mnie uycia konkretnego systemu operacyjnego (z preinstalowanymi Usugami Google)

Nice! for iOS just got updated to support the new "marketplace-kit" scheme. Brave only calls the scheme when trackers blocking is disabled. As we reported earlier, Apple implemented the new scheme in a way that allows tracking across websites based on the unique clientid.

Now users in the EU can use Brave to safely install alternative marketplaces. We would like to thank Brave for considering our advice about potential .

Here's with all the recent seasons (COVID-19 era) -- all of the spikes on this were COVID-19, not influenza since 2020. You can see the 2023-24 Season had a big spike in December./January, which is when the last big COVID-19 went through (XBB.1.5) -- which hit hard in Dec/Jan but then tailed off rapidly, one of the omicron variants. Haven't seen a spike since then (cross fingers). The blue/purple line with a lot of spikes was 2019-2020 season when COVID-19 first appeared in the US.

- unbenutzbare Webseiten bauen

Was ist da los
- zeit.de
- sz.de
- faz.net
- ...

We fool ourselves if we think governments aren't spying on their citizens. It's one of those things that snuck in and stayed, and is not going away but expanding.

"Poland's prosecutor general says previous government used spyware against hundreds of people"

"Polands prosecutor general has told the parliament that powerful Pegasus spyware was used against hundreds of people during the former government in Poland"

According to a study by (author of the app "Tracker Control")

" 85% of apps
from 2017 could send data to Alphabet/Google, compared to 89% in 2020. Apps
still widely send personal data to tracking companies based in a third-party country
without an adequate level of data protection, particularly to those in the US "

This study received the Stefano Rodot Award btw (see ) congrats to Konrad!

This guy made a tool that beeps every time a website sends data about you to Google. The beeps blur into a continuous buzz:

I use Privacy Badger (, blocks trackers), uBlock Origin (, adblocker), Firefox, and the SearXNG search engine ( or find instances at ), but it's annoying I have to.

It's not the browser sending data to trackers. It's the webpages that load these tracking URLs and force browsers to do this!

Cache is king

Earlier in the day than my previous articles! Latest entry in the A-to-Z of Blogging Challenge is titled "T is for 'Tracking'" in which I write about my disdain for tracking components in URLs.

I was sufficiently annoyed to write a tool to strip out tracking elements:

Feedback welcome (here, on the blog article, or via github)

New game. The rules are simple:

You send me an email that contains tracking links I unsubscribe. Can't be simpler really.

A new assistant is being integrated into the search experience on Facebook and Instagram. Problem is, someone forgot to tell it what it can and cant do.

NextDNS or Pi-hole (self-hosted) are DNS level blockers that more people really should use.

GPS tracking reveals koalas Phascolarctos cinereus use mosaics of different forest ages after environmentally regulated timber harvesting

"We located koalas for capture using day searches, nocturnal spot-lighting, koala detection dogs and dawn drone flights. Once located, koalas were either captured by trapping or flagging by a tree climber using an extended pole. Animals were anesthetized to allow appropriate fitting of collars."
