However, in my opinion, they do ignore the gigantic threat on by the tracker industry and the Multi-Billion-Dollar-Business of sharing this data when they say that "turning off Bluetooth and NFC" is an "outdated advice".
For NFC I can not tell.
Unfortunately, most retail chains are using Bluetooth tracking and share their tracking with basically all others.
So my recommendation is: turn off at least Bluetooth any time you're not actively using it! Furthermore, I'd recommend people to randomize their MAC address for unknown networks as well in their settings.
Modern Android has a neat feature to turn off Bluetooth when you're not using it for xx seconds/minutes. Use that and be aware that if you're walking through streets or shopping areas with your active BT headphones, you're being tracked all the time.

The House was certainly back this week. A lot of legislative energy had been pent up for a very long time. Several bills passed unanimously or nearly so several more were highly partisan while another batch were censure resolutions expressing various kinds of frustration, both partisan and personal. So, in general order of topic and level of support, heres what the House was up to. Plus one Senate vote that sends a regulation nullification to the President for his signature.
Regular Bills
One bill listed below is now law thats the Epstein Files Transparency Act. All the rest are still early in the legislative process and are not yet law.
- : To repeal certain provisions relating to notification to Senate offices regarding legal process on disclosure of Senate data, and for other purposes, which would repeal provisions in the continuing resolution that was just passed which would provide a small number of Senators , passed . Its unknown whether this bill will receive a vote in the Senate or whether it will pass.
- passed on Tuesday, November 18. We talked about the bill and the legislative maneuvering involved in more detail in . Since the preview, not only did the bill pass almost unanimously in the House, but the Senate passed it the same day by unanimous consent and .

Regulation Nullifications
The last two of these three will now become law. The first still has to receive a vote in the Senate.

- : A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management relating to National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska Integrated Activity Plan Record of Decision passed . It next goes to the President to be signed into law.
Censures
Censures are one of the three ways Congress can police the behavior of members. The other two are expulsion (extremely rare) and investigation by the House Ethics Committee (more common than censures or expulsions). Well have more to say about the rapid increase this Congress in censure/censure-like resolutions in a separate post, but for now well list the votes for this week. They do not go to the Senate since they are exclusively about House matters and are not legislation that becomes law.
- : Disapproving the behavior of Representative Jess G. Chuy Garca of Illinois, which does what it says, passed . and near the deadline for submitting petitions to be on the ballot. The end result is that his preferred successor is now the only person in the 2026 Democratic primary for his seat. This resolution was sponsored by fellow Democrat . Yes, this is unusual.
- : Censuring and condemning Delegate Stacey Plaskett and removing her from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for conduct that reflects discreditably on the House of Representatives for colluding with convicted felony sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a congressional hearing failed . , who, she noted, was a constituent at the time. A slight majority of the House felt that this did not reflect discreditably on the House, or at least not so much to warrant a censure and removal from committee memberships. This resolution was sponsored by . Del. Plaskett is a Democrat, so a Republican sponsoring a censure is usual. Or it would be if it werent one of a rash of them just this week.
- : Censuring Representative Cory Mills of Florida and removing him from the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Foreign Affairs was converted to a motion to refer the allegations in the censure resolution to the House Ethics Committee and passed . Mills retains his committee memberships. Mills also already for over a year. He further has an active restraining order against him as a direct result of an alleged and subsequently recanted assault on a woman in Washington, D.C. The censure resolution and new investigation rolls in the assault allegations as well as several campaign finance allegations. The Ethics Committee announced on November 19 that they are and will announce members soon. The censure resolution was sponsored by fellow Republican . Yes, this is unusual.

Like a corporate version of The Godfather, Microsoft made offers competitors couldnt refuse. DR-DOS Made intentionally incompatible. Linux Targeted in internal memos. Internet Explorer Forced onto every desktop for your convenience. The result: a near-total monopoly achieved not by innovation alone, but by control, coercion, and corporate muscle.
Fast forward to today. Microsofts empire no longer needs to hide its power it runs your computer, your documents, your identity. Telemetry, the friendly name for mass surveillance, quietly records how you use your device. With Windows 11, you cant even log in without a Microsoft account the digital equivalent of Big Brothers stamp of approval. Imagine Orwells 1984 rewritten for the 21st century: Winston Smith doesnt fear the telescreen anymore. He bought it, installed it, and clicked I agree. Even students are being tracked through Microsoft Office. Their learning curves analyzed. Their data stored. Their digital lives quantified all under the illusion of productivity.
Steve Ballmer once called Linux a cancer. But history, ever fond of irony, flipped the metaphor: Microsoft became the cancer instead feeding on the open-source world it once despised. Today, Windows happily integrates Linux as a feature, commodifying the very freedom it tried to destroy. Microsoft didnt defeat open source it absorbed it. Like the Borg. Like the Matrix. Like capitalism always does.
Meanwhile, the cost of this corporate control extends far beyond money. Windows 11s unnecessary hardware requirements have already forced millions of functional computers into landfills a quiet environmental catastrophe disguised as an upgrade. The planet pays for your shiny new taskbar.
The illusion of control doesnt stop at your desktop. As Edward Snowden revealed, Microsoft has shared user data with the NSA turning your operating system into a global surveillance node. When the International Criminal Court made decisions the U.S. didnt like, its staff found their Microsoft email access revoked. Thats not science fiction. Thats administrative reality. And it could happen to anyone. We once feared governments might use technology to control us. Instead, we let corporations do it and we pay a monthly subscription for the privilege.
But not all hope is lost. Theres still the red pill Linux. Its not perfect, but its free, open, and community-driven. No forced logins, no corporate backdoors, no hidden surveillance. Just software built by people, for people. Switching to Linux isnt rebellion for rebellions sake. Its a vote for transparency, for sustainability, for democracy. The blue screen of illusion can still be escaped.
