I came up with a simple solution in termux that encrypts and uploads location to my server (along with timestamp or whatever other data I might want to include.) Then I have another script to download, decrypt and open in OsmAnd. My biggest issue now is that termux-job-scheduler, due to Android limitations, only allows the upload script to run once every 15 minutes. Not useful for live tracking. Oh well, still a fun little experiment. Maybe I should look into doing some kind of OsmAnd plugin.

I could say his was using Windows, but he made so many more mistakes by posting to his social media channels at the same time using the same IP address. It takes a lot more than just a VPN to outsmart the FBI.
The more I browse the internet, the more I realize that the new normal is that privacy is the responsibility of the user, that websites, including cybersecurity companies whose professed profession is to protect, have no obligation to serve it to you, meaning that if you don't know better (which is a lot of people and the companies in question are banking on that), your data will be shared and sold, and that's only the tip of the data-peddling iceberg.
